Contracts Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Engineer with a background in fabrication to join our progressive team of 9 Contracts Engineers in Sheffield.

The post holder will be responsible for planning contract work to meet our blue chip contract customers' schedules for parts. It will be your responsibility to ensure the timely and efficient provision of these schedules, whilst providing professional advice on all the services that we offer. You will be the first point of contact for our contract customers and as such will be expected to build good working relationships and provide a professional engineering service to all.

The successful candidate will have good engineering skills and the ability to understand technical drawings and fully interpret what processes are required.

Communication and interpersonal skills are also essential and you must be confident liaising with internal and external customers.

Experience of Autocad and good IT skills are desirable, as is experience of an automated planning system such as E2i. Those with a good understanding of the metals industry may have an advantage, but this is also not essential.

Press Brake Operators

3 Press Brake Operators (Experienced and Trainee)
Sheffield, South Yorkshire (commutable from Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Barnsley, Mansfield etc)

Trainees from £9.48 p/hr (inc shift allowance)
Trained Operators from £11.02 p/hr

Due to continued growth and expansion of our press department we are seeking 3 Operators to join our 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working two 12 hour days 6am to 6pm followed by two 12 hour nights 6pm to 6am then 4 shifts off on a rotating basis.

The post holders will be responsible for ensuring that all jobs are produced to the required quality standard and that each machine is running effectively and efficiently in order to ensure maximum productivity.

You will set up and use the Press Brake machinery. This will include reading drawings, programming the machines, changing tools, and handling and manoeuvring materials. Training will be provided as required.

Ideally you will possess Brake Press experience however this is not essential as training can be provided. Trainees must have some engineering experience or experience of working in a steel / metal related industry - perhaps you will have completed a relevant apprenticeship and will already have the ability to read engineering drawings.

We are looking for team players that are able to work with minimum supervision once the training period has been completed. You must also be reliable, flexible and able to work following a shift pattern providing cover for colleagues absence on other teams as and when required.

Quality Manager

Do you have the drive, enthusiasm and passion to improve our processes by establishing and implementing procedures and then ensuring that they are complied with.

This is a key role in the continued development of the company as we progress with our plan of growth both immediate and in the future.

You will also be expected to provide advice and assist colleagues on technical and engineering issues.

The successful candidate will ideally have a good Engineering degree including experience of fabrication techniques, a good knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001, good IT skills, ie, preparing spreadhseets and reports together with experience in customer relations and internal audits.

You must be resilient and pro-active in your approach to work to achieve maximum results in this area, and be prepared to give direction, guidance and support to your team of 8 quality engineers and inspectors.

Key areas of responsibility include, management and development of the quality management system, development of Qualit best practice and benchmarking of processes and performance measurement, QMS audit system, supplier quality assurance and developoment, involvement with New Product Implementation, concession process, CCIR process, project and budget management.

Invoice Clerk, Purchasing

We currently have a vacancy for an Invoice Clerk to work in our Purchasing Department.

The main duties will involve checking supplier invoices against purchase orders, allocating nominal codes to invoices, matching advice notes to invoices and general administration.

PC experience is essential with use of Word, Excel and databases being of paricular relevance. Previous office or purchasing experience would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be provided.

The successful candidate should be diligent and have a good eye for detail to ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained.
