Our track record as a well-invested, high-growth business deploying Six Sigma manufacturing techniques has allowed us to supply major OEMs including Caterpillar, JCB and Terex.

The three most important requirements of our customers are quality, delivery and price. Our continued investment in the latest state-of-the-art equipment gives our large, global customers confidence, while our range of facilities, from the bevel laser and waterjet cutting system to the robotic press brake and CNC machining centres ensure that we maintain greater control of quality and delivery.

We supply safety critical parts, including chassis and major structural components for many of our larger customers. These parts are manufactured from hi-tech, high strength materials, such as Domex, which allows our customers to reduce vehicle weight while increasing payload.

We also work with Hardox when manufacturing for both Caterpillar and JCB, using our wide range of facilities, from laser cutting to fabricating to painting of the product.

Quarrying

We are the largest non-OEM processor of wear plate material in the UK, handling more than 3,000 tonnes a year and as the largest Hardox wear-parts centre in the UK, we have access to significant quantities of material, with more than 400 tonnes of Hardox in stock at any one time.

This track record gives our customers - OEMs, engineering companies and end-users confidence, ensuring that MTL is their first choice for the finest quality materials.

We have invested heavily in the latest state-of-the-art profiling equipment including a 12 metre waterjet machine and a laser capable of producing parts of up to 20m x 3.2m x 25mm with a bevel or weld prep of up to +/- 50 degrees. This allows us to increase efficiency and productivity, which generates cost savings for our customers.

This high quality of service has allowed us to establish strong working relationships with market leading global companies like Sandvik, Caterpillar, JCB and Terex. Demand in this sector is leading to significant growth in volumes and an ever increasing demand for quality. Our wide range of equipment and abrasive resistant materials ensure that we are one of the leading suppliers of wear-parts in the UK.
