MTL Group is a UK contract manufacturing specialist in the metal sector. Founded in 1995 we have grown to become a partner of choice for many major global OEMs.

We operate from two modern manufacturing sites. Our Head Office and main facility is in Rotherham, South Yorkshire and offers 300,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space set in 25 Acres of private land; our Blyth site in Northumberland offers a dockside fabrication and assembly facility where we are able to produce fabricated assemblies up to 300 tonnes.

The core sectors we currently serve include Defence, Renewable Energy, Offshore Oil & Gas, Construction, Quarrying, Rail and Recycling.

We are an approved supplier to a range of customers including BAE Systems, Bombardier Transportation, Caterpillar, Rheinmetall and Sandvik.

MTL Group has quality management approval ISO 9001:2008, and is accredited by the German Bundeswehr and has received SC21 Bronze status. MTL Group is committed to Six Sigma, and the techniques of lean manufacturing. Our processes are continually and systematically monitored and analysed to reduce process variation and eliminate waste.

We process circa 25,000 tonnes of material annually and are capable of handling all sizes and types of work from carbon steel to aluminium. We can cut parts up to 25m long x 5m wide and can produce complex formed components to within 0.5 degrees of accuracy using the worlds largest robotic press brake. We have an impressive array of CNC machining centres allowing us to add further value to our customer requirements. Our fabrication facilities offer welding to ISO EN 3834-2 status and we hold a range of offshore approvals such as DIN 18800-7, EMMUA 158, and NORSOK M101. We employ in excess of 100 qualified welders and use 6 modern robotic welding systems.

MTL Group is well known on a global basis as a major supplier of components and fabrications manufactured from specialist materials such as Wear Resistant steels, High Strength steels and Armour plate both in steel and alloys. Many of our customers rely on MTL Group for its manufacturing expertise with these materials and often utilize our services in the Design for Manufacture phase. They also appreciate our wide range of stock material and know they can count on us for short lead-times due to material availability.
